The Total Coverage Blog
On May 21, we held our 7th Annual Cruise Night on Main Street in Denver, PA. The night consisted of 120 new and classic cars parked on Main Street in Denver and in the parking lots behind the new Unruh office. Proceeds from the night benefited both Denver Fire Company and REAL Life Community Services.
Unruh Insurance Agency has always been a part of the Denver, PA community. However, with a recent office move to a more prominent location on Main Street, the plan for this year’s car show was to really get the community involved. Main Street was closed from the Denver square to the front of the new Unruh office, allowing us to pack in 72 cars on the street and another 48 cars in the lots behind the building. A total of 120 cars were in attendance!
The Denver community was very present, with local residents enjoying live music by area DJ, DJ J-Willz. Local food vendors were involved as well: Courtyard Cafe on Main, Castaneda’s Mexican Restaurant, Lorah’s Handmade Chocolates, Liebby’s Ice Cream, as well as some pulled pork BBQ prepared by Swamp Christian Fellowship.
Not only did the music compliment the classically-fun atmosphere, but the food was delicious!
When Cruise Night was originally thought-up, the event was built around the idea of being a fun way to help raise money for local community organizations. A short trip in a time-traveling (and fully insured) DeLorean later, our 7th Annual Cruise Night was the best yet.
Funds were raised through both our 50/50 raffle and car registrations. A total of $4,000 was donated to both the Denver Fire Company and REAL Life Community Services. We were able to present Denver Fire Co and REAL Life Community Services each with a $2,000 donation! Accepting the checks were Shannon Hilton (right) and Rod Redcay (left), respectfully. Kent (center left) and Curt Unruh (center right) presented the checks.
The community turnout was amazing and we’re already busy planning for next year’s event.
