Setting the Standard

In 1925, the Erie Insurance Exchange was officially founded by H.O. Hirt and O.G. Crawford. In fact, H.O.’s own Dodge touring car was one of the company’s first policies written. In 1934, Erie introduced the “Super Standard Auto Policy”, which included many features that would go on to become industry standards.

Since then, the company has expanded to offer a full range of insurance products and continues to emphasize great protection and excellent service at the lowest possible cost.
